The National Identification Authority (NIA), effective today, July 6, 2026, has officially begun registration for Ghana Cards for children between the ages of 6 and 14 at all its district offices in the Volta and Oti Regions.
In a statement, the Head of the Corporate Affairs Directorate of the NIA, Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, explained that the development follows the successful completion of the initial mass registration exercise.
“The NIA has now integrated the registration of children in this age group into its regular, ongoing services, making it easier for families to get their children registered without having to wait for special campaigns,” the statement read in part.
The NIA has therefore urged all parents whose children in this age group are yet to be registered to take full advantage of this permanent service and secure Ghana Cards for them without delay.
The Authority also encouraged parents and guardians to visit any NIA district office in the Volta and Oti Regions, accompanied by their children, and to bring along the necessary supporting documents to ensure a smooth process.
This move is expected to significantly boost the number of registered children in the Volta and Oti regions, helping more young Ghanaians obtain this important national identification document.
