Residents of Adamukrom, a suburb of Millennium City in the Gomoa East District, were left shaken after armed men, reportedly in military uniform, stormed the area and demolished a mosque under construction in the early hours of Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., when about 50 uniformed men arrived at the site with an excavator and began pulling down the structure without prior notice.
A couple living on the land alleged that they were held at gunpoint during the operation, leaving them traumatised.

“The whole experience was terrifying. We felt completely helpless,” one of the victims recounted.
Residents claim the team, reportedly led by an individual identified only as “Olanyo,” ordered the immediate demolition of the mosque, locally referred to as “masalachi.”
The incident has sparked fear and panic within the community, with some residents alleging that it is not the first time they have faced such intimidation.
Community members are now calling on authorities, including the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of the Interior, to investigate the matter and ensure accountability.
They are also demanding clarity on the circumstances that led to the demolition, as well as protection from further incidents.
