Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, will discover their opponents for the African qualification campaign for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games on Wednesday, April 29.

The draw, organised by Confederation of African Football, will be held at the governing body’s headquarters in Cairo and streamed live on CAF TV from 15:00 local time (12:00 GMT).

Ghana is among 36 nations set to compete in the qualifiers, where teams will battle for the two available African slots at the women’s football tournament of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, scheduled for July 11 to 29, 2028.

The qualification series will be played over five rounds, with each participating country seeking a place on the global stage in Los Angeles.

The Black Queens head into the draw in confident mood after climbing to 59th in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings. Ghana is also currently ranked third in Africa, boosting hopes of a strong qualification run.

With renewed momentum, the Black Queens now begin another major mission as they target a return to Olympic football.
