Deputy Chairperson of the Ghanaian community in South Africa, Tina Buxton, has described the situation facing Ghanaians in the country as disturbing, revealing that many would return home if given the opportunity.

Speaking via Zoom on Badwam on Adom TV, she said the current conditions are not easy for many Ghanaians living there.

According to her, a significant number of Ghanaians in South Africa have expressed the desire to return home due to the challenges they face.

However, she explained that economic difficulties in Ghana make it hard for many to make that decision.

Tina Buxton noted that if conditions were better in Ghana, many of them would have already returned rather than continuing to endure hardships abroad.

“Majority of Ghanaians would love to come back home, but they are coping because things are not easy in Ghana too,” she said.

She added that most are simply coping with the situation as they weigh their limited options between staying in South Africa and returning home.
