The Nifahene of the Goaso Traditional Council in the Ahafo Region, Nana Ata Asumadu, has raised concerns over inadequate infrastructure at Ahafoman Senior High Technical School, warning that the situation is negatively affecting teaching and learning.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News during the school’s SRC Week celebration, he noted that the over 50-year-old institution lacks key facilities, including an assembly hall, a standard dining hall capable of accommodating all students at once, and adequate classroom furniture.

He described the current state of infrastructure as disheartening and unacceptable, urging authorities to take immediate action to address the challenges.

According to him, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, the Member of Parliament for the area, Haruna Mohammed, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Joseph Akparibo, must urgently intervene to improve conditions in the school.

Adding her voice, the Senior Girls’ Prefect, Duut Lamisi Aarielle, said the poor infrastructure continues to disrupt academic work.

She explained that classrooms and the dining hall leak during rainfall, while the science laboratory does not meet required standards. She also noted that some classrooms have poor flooring, further affecting the learning environment.

Both the traditional leader and students are appealing to government and relevant stakeholders to prioritise the development of the school to enhance effective teaching and learning.
