Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North and Deputy Ranking Member on Parliament’s Energy Committee, Collins Adomako-Mensah, has expressed concern over the reported formation of a new political movement known as “The Base” by some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM, he said he was unhappy about the development, regardless of the number of individuals involved.
According to him, such a move is unfortunate and should not have occurred within the party.
He, however, expressed confidence that party leadership will address the situation and ensure unity is maintained.
Collins Adomako-Mensah stressed that no individual or group is bigger than the party, warning that attempts to undermine it for parochial interests will not succeed.
“Nobody is bigger than the party. I repeat, nobody is bigger than the NPP. Not even the flagbearer, and no group of people can sabotage it with parochial intentions,” he stated.
