The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has been discharged from hospital following a road traffic accident, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Haruna Iddrisu and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were involved in a road crash on the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The incident occurred while both ministers and their teams were travelling to official events in the Upper West Region, including activities marking the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.
In a statement, the Minister’s Press Secretary confirmed that he was released from the 37 Military Hospital, where he had been receiving medical treatment.
The Minister also expressed gratitude to the medical personnel who attended to him, as well as members of the public who offered prayers and support during his period of recovery.
“He is in good spirits and has been advised to rest as part of his recovery,” the statement added.
Officials indicated that the Minister is in good spirits and has been advised by medical professionals to take time off to rest as part of his recovery.

“The Office of the Honourable Minister for Education announces that Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital following a road traffic accident,” the statement said.
