
A tragic accident on the Matse–Vane road in the Ho Municipality has claimed one life and left several others injured.
The crash involved an Isuzu pickup with registration number GS 3468-17 and a saloon car bearing GE 1056-16.
The impact left both vehicles mangled, trapping four people, including the saloon car driver and two occupants of the pickup.
The Volta Regional branch of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly after being alerted. Led by STNO II Segbedzi Michael, the crew worked to free the trapped occupants. The saloon car driver was found unresponsive.
All survivors were handed over to the Ambulance Service for emergency treatment. Sadly, the driver of the saloon car was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been released to the Police for autopsy and further investigation.
Ho Municipal Fire Commander, DO II Seth Tay, together with other senior officers, was present to oversee the rescue operation and ensure effective scene management.
The cause of the collision is yet to be determined.
