Social media and New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist Daniel Adomako, popularly known as Sir Obama Pokuase, and TikTok content creator Prince Ofori, alias Fante Comedy, were on Wednesday granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court.
However, the duo remained in police custody overnight because they could not meet the bail conditions.
The court granted Fante Comedy bail set at GH¢100,000 with three sureties, two of whom must be gainfully employed.
He is also required to surrender his passport to the police until further orders from the court.
Sir Obama Pokuase was also granted bail of GH¢50,000 with three sureties, two of whom must be salaried workers. At least one surety must be a government employee earning not less than GH¢3,000 monthly.
The activist was arrested on Wednesday, August 13, as part of an ongoing intelligence-led security operation against the unlawful possession and display of sophisticated weapons.
Police say he is assisting with investigations into videos and images allegedly shared on social media showing people holding high-grade firearms.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the investigation, conducted in collaboration with other security agencies, is part of a broader initiative to dismantle networks engaged in the illegal possession of arms.
Authorities report that a significant quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition has already been recovered during the operations.
