International evangelist and Founder of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, has revealed that he has no interest in venturing into politics, citing the immense pressure and responsibility that come with leadership roles.
Speaking on Accra-based UTV, he stated that he would rather remain who he is than become a President, Member of Parliament, or Metropolitan, Municipal or District Chief Executive (MMDCE).
“I would never want to become a President, would never want to become an MP or even an MCE. I like being Lawrence Tetteh,” he stated.
According to him, political leadership comes with significant challenges that many people often underestimate.
He explained that leaders endure intense pressure, particularly during election periods, and are constantly faced with difficult decisions.
“Being a leader is a very big responsibility that we should not take for granted,” he added.
Rev. Tetteh noted that he often prays for national leaders because of the burdens they carry, referencing figures such as John Dramani Mahama and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as examples of individuals who have had to navigate such pressures.
He also highlighted the challenge of dealing with insincere individuals, stating that some people surround leaders for selfish reasons rather than genuine support.
He added that leaders naturally desire to feel competent in their roles, making it important for them to have trustworthy and capable people around them.
