Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz says 22 players are available for Tuesday’s crucial 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against The Gambia, with only midfielder Ronald Donkor remaining an injury concern.
The Black Stars return to the Accra Sports Stadium needing a response after opening their Group C campaign with a 2-0 defeat away to Ivory Coast in Bouake last Thursday.
Speaking after Monday’s training session, the 74-year-old Portuguese coach said his squad was largely in good condition ahead of the 16:00 GMT kick-off.
“We just finished the training session. I can announce that we have 22 players ready to play tomorrow,” Queiroz said.
Donkor, who is in line for his first senior Black Stars appearance, completed only a light training session as he continues his recovery.
Queiroz said the midfielder will be assessed before kick-off and could still be named among the substitutes.
“The only player still in doubt is Ronald Donkor. He had a light training session today, and hopefully he’ll be on the bench for tomorrow’s game,” he added.
“Otherwise, the others trained normally and are in great condition and shape. We are ready for the game tomorrow.”
Ghana will, however, be without defender Alexander Djiku, who has been ruled out after limping off during the defeat to Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars are bottom of Group C without a point and will be aiming to kick-start their qualifying campaign as they seek a return to the Africa Cup of Nations after missing the previous edition in Morocco.
