Four people have died and another has been injured following a fatal road crash involving a Toyota Voxy and a MAN Diesel trailer at Anyinaso Junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 28, 2026, with the Bunso Fire Station receiving a distress call at 5:21 a.m.
A seven-member fire crew arrived at the scene at 5:35 a.m. and worked to rescue victims trapped in the vehicles.
One male victim was successfully extricated and transported to the Kibi Government Hospital for medical attention.
Four others, comprising three males and one female, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Toyota Voxy, with registration number GR 9430-26, was completely damaged in the crash, while the MAN Diesel trailer, registered GS 4064-26, sustained damage to its front compartment.
Firefighters also secured the crash scene and assisted with traffic management to ensure the free flow of vehicles along the busy highway.
The circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear, with investigations underway to establish its cause.
The scene was subsequently handed over to the Ghana Police Service for further investigation.
