At 104 years old, she’s witnessed more than 20 elections, but Ruth Rosner says she can “finally die happy” after voting for Joe Biden.

Ms Rosner, who was born before women could legally vote, went viral on Twitter as her journey to the ballot box was chronicled on social media.

The 104-year-old said her vote was “hands-down, without exception” the most important one that she has cast in her lifetime.

And she left people in stitches after describing President Donald Trump as a “grotesque, radioactive turd.”

On Twitter, writer Faith Salie recorded Ruth’s journey to the voting statoin.

“Today I had the honour of escorting my 104.5 year-old friend Ruth to vote,’ Salie tweeted.

“She was born before women had the right to vote. Her 1st vote was for FDR.

“Her dad died of the flu during the pandemic of 1918, when she was two.”

In an emotional video, Ruth said this was the most important election she had voted in.

She said: “This is hands down, without exception, and I’m talking about the First World War, Second World War, and every other election before or since, this is it.

“That’s why I’m so thrilled that I’m still alive.”

While she couldn’t film Ruth filling her ballot, Faith Salie tweeted about the historic moment.

“She filled in that circle HARD,” Salie wrote.

“When she inserted her ballot to scan, the place went nuts.

“Some were in tears; everyone made sure Ruth went to the front of the line.

“We walked out to the street and all the folks in line for hours cheered her.

“You could hear the claps for up and down the blocks.”

After voting, a visibly tearful Ruth said: “I feel that I did the best thing I could do under terrible circumstances.

“I hope that my vote counts as the vote of millions that we will have [for] Biden and Harris.

“I hope with all my heart, this is so important to me, this is the most important thing I could do.”

And she followed up, by jokingly recording a video where she said she “can die happy.”

Ruth went viral on Twitter, with many people praising her enthusiasm.

One person tweeted: “This woman is an inspiration! 104 years old and 1000 times more coherent than the president.

“Go Ruth Rosner! Biden for President.”

Another commented: “I cherish my elders! She has seen the power of the vote for over a century.”
