Police in the Eastern Region have begun investigations into the death of a 16-year-old Okada rider at Abomosu in the Atiwa District of the Eastern Region.

The lifeless body of Emmanuel Agyei, who left home on April 28, was found a day later lying in a bush at Akyem Nkurakan near Abomosu, a distance away from his motorbike with cuts on his head and blood oozing from his body.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the deceased struggled with his attackers before his death.

Sergeant Francis Gormado, the Deputy Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer told Citi News the police have started investigations into the incident.

“Police in Akyem Abomosu on 30th April had the information that a 16-year-old motor rider had been lost for some days, the issue was reported by Thomas Agyei who happens to be the father of the missing boy. After a search a was conducted the body of the boy in a blue t-shirt over a pair of black jeans was found lying in a bush at Akyem Nkurakan near Abomosu lying in a supine position, his unregistered motorbike was also lying a distance away from him.”

Sergeant Francis Gormado added that, “after careful observation and inspection of the body by the police, marks of violence were found on his left cheeks and a cut on his head with blood. The body has since been deposited at the Kibi Government Hospital for autopsy and preservation, as we continue our investigations into the incident.”

“We are therefore calling on residents with any information which may enable us to bring the perpetrators to book to come forward and assist because we will protect their identities.”
