A 32-year-old woman, Abena Atta, is currently in the grip of the Assin Fosu Police, for allegedly killing her eight-month-old daughter, Paulina Amoah.

Ms Atta, who some residents say has a mental disability, allegedly threw the baby into a river called Haruna, at Haruna village, in the Assin South District of the Central region.

Information gathered by Adom News’ Alfred Amoh revealed that men in the locality took advantage of the suspect’s mental illness to sleep with her.

Paul Amoh, a senior brother of the suspect, in an interview with Adom News narrated what really happened.

“Men lure her to bed so she doesn’t even know the fathers of her children. Four of her children are dead with only three left that the family takes care of,” he said.

“Even as she threw the baby into the river, she ran to the bank saying she wants to breastfeed him,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Assin Fosu Divisional Police Commander, Chief Supt. Henry B. M. Bacho, has pledged to address the media about the incident after investigations are over.
