The Minority in Parliament is accusing the Akufo-Addo led government of gargantuan cover-up after the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and National Security, cleared the Managing Director of Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company (BOST), Alfred Obeng in the controversial sale of five million litres of off-spec fuel.
Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, said they will expose attempts by government to sweep such “fraud and malfeasances” under the carpet.
The MD came under attack over the decision to sell five million litres of contaminated fuel to Movenpiina, a company said to have been incorporated barely a month after it negotiated the deal with BOST and without NPA license.
The Minority led by its leader, Haruna Iddrisu called for his dismissal for a thorough investigations into the saga
The Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko announced, his outfit was in the process of setting up an eight-member investigative committee to look into the transaction with Movenpiina but they are considering dissolving the after the BNI and National Security found nothing wrong with the decision to sell the contaminated fuel to Movenpiina Company Limited by Mr. Obeng.
However on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, ABA Fuseini accused the security apparatus of being complicit in the matter.
He indicated that, clearing Alfred Obeng when the committee had not begun investigations amounts to “a desperate attempt by the NPP to rationalize corruption”.
“We will hold the feet of government to the fire of accountability and ensure President Akufo-Addo fulfills his promise to protect the public purse” the Sagnarigu MP stressed.
ABA Fuseini therefore, urged the ministerial committee to proceed with a full investigation of the matter and report publicly.
