The President, John Dramani Mahama, has reiterated his government’s commitment to establishing a College of Education in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region.
He said the college will be built from scratch at Ezinlibo to complement existing Colleges of Education in the country.
The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, recently announced plans to establish the new institution in the constituency, describing it as a historic and strategic intervention aimed at expanding access to teacher training and increasing enrolment opportunities.
Once completed, the college is expected to attract students from across the Western Region and beyond, stimulate local economic activity, and position Jomoro as a growing hub for academic development.

It is also acknowledged that the poor condition of roads within the constituency remains a matter of public concern.
The project has been championed by the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, who also serves as Deputy Transport Minister, alongside the former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd).
President Mahama, in a recent interview on the improvement of educational infrastructure, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upgrading facilities across existing Colleges of Education to improve learning conditions nationwide as part of the Resetting Ghana agenda.
