Member of Parliament for Mion in the Northern Region, Mohammed Abdul Aziz, is blaming the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for the rise in crime in the Ghana.
Mr. Abdul-Aziz believes government’s incessant shielding of party faithful who flout the rules is a reason crimes are committed on a daily basis.
Speaking on Joy News’ AM Show Wednesday, Mr Abdul-Aziz said he expects government to bring an end to these acts of hooliganism.

“The levels of crimes that we are experiencing today is unprecedented. In fact, it all started when Nana Addo was sworn in as President. These NPP hooligans were seen and heard attacking police officers and even chasing judges away.
“Nana Addo should sit and make sure criminal activities in the country are curtailed because it doesn’t speak well of our nation” he said.

Mr. Aziz made these claims after a police officer was shot dead when an arm-wielding gang stormed the Atomic Hill Police station in Kwabenya, Accra, to free suspected armed robbers who were in custody at the station last Sunday.
In the process, six remand prisoners, identified as Dickson Ofori, Chubuzor Chubuzor, Edem Rockson, Emmanuel Kotey, Prince Osei, Kofi Darko and Atta Kwadwo were freed.

But the NDC Man indicated that levels of lawlessness in the country have escalated in the few months of President Akufo-Addo’s governance.
He therefore called on President Akufo Addo to show leadership by ensuring that the perpetrators of such acts are brought to book.
