Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele both scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain edged to a 5-4 semi-final first leg victory in what proved to be an enthralling, instant-classic against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes.
The Bavarian giants took the lead on 17 minutes through Harry Kane, who claimed his 54th goal of the season from the penalty spot.
PSG came roaring back with Kvaratskhelia levelling seven minutes later courtesy of a stunning curler before Joao Neves headed in a corner just past the half hour.
Michael Olise dragged the visitors back into it with a superb solo goal on 41 minutes, but Vincent Kompany’s men still went in at the interval as behind as Dembele netted from the penalty spot after a VAR intervention for a hotly-disputed handball.
The open, attacking nature of the contest continued in the second half, with Kvaratskhelia and Dembele both adding their second goals of the night to put Luis Enrique’s men 5-2 up inside the hour.
Bayern came roaring back with Dayot Upamecano heading home prior to Luis Diaz netting Bayern’s fourth on 68 minutes.
Senny Mayulu hit the post late on for the holders, but there was to be no additional late drama in this all-action, pulsating encounter.
