Residents in several communities across the Western Region are currently without electricity following damage to a high-tension (HT) pole at Half Assini, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced.
In a statement issued on Monday, June 22, 2026, ECG said the damaged infrastructure has disrupted power supply to a number of towns and surrounding communities, affecting both households and businesses.
Among the affected areas are Asemkrom, Jema, Boinso, Omanpe, Kwahu, Atokosue, Nkwanta, Enchi Township, Elubo, Nyankamam, Akontombra, New and Old Yakasi, Adjakaa, Achimfo, Abokyia and nearby communities.
The outage has interrupted commercial activities and essential services that rely on a stable electricity supply, leaving many residents awaiting restoration.
ECG said its technical teams are working to repair the damaged infrastructure and restore power to the affected areas as quickly as possible.
According to the company, electricity supply will be restored once the necessary repair works have been completed and the network is certified safe for reconnection.

The power distributor apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused and appealed for patience while restoration efforts continue.
