The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has attributed ongoing power outages in parts of the Greater Accra and Western regions to separate technical faults affecting its power distribution network.

In a statement issued on Monday, June 8, ECG said residents of Hebron, Medie, Samsam, Satellite, Koleman and surrounding communities in the Accra West operational area are experiencing interruptions in electricity supply due to a technical fault at the Nsawam Primary Station.

The company indicated that engineers have been deployed to the site and are working to resolve the problem and restore power as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, in the Western Region, a broken high-tension (HT) pole at Ankasa has disrupted electricity supply to several communities.

The affected areas include Asemkrom, Jema, Boinso, Omanpe, Kwahu, Atokosue, Nkwanta, Enchi Township, Elubo, Nyankamam, Akontonbra, New Yakasi, Old Yakasi, Adjakaa, Achimfo, Abokyia and nearby communities.

According to ECG, technical teams are on the ground undertaking repair works to restore supply to the affected areas.

“Our engineers are on site to address the fault and bring the supply back to normal,” the company stated.

ECG apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused and assured the public that every effort is being made to restore power promptly.

The company also urged residents in the affected communities to exercise caution while the outages persist.
