A fire outbreak at Adisadel College in Cape Coast has destroyed the personal belongings of the school’s Mathematics teacher and Hamlyn House Master, Eugene Selasi Dzeble, leaving him and his family without essential items.
The incident occurred late on Wednesday, August 28, 2026, at Mr Dzeble’s residence on the school campus.
According to the house master, the fire may have been triggered by repeated power fluctuations on the campus.
He said several fluctuations had occurred before the fire broke out, prompting the occupants to seek assistance from the Ghana National Fire Service.
However, by the time firefighters arrived at the scene, the flames had already destroyed most of the family’s belongings.
The fire was eventually brought under control before it could spread to the nearby dormitory, preventing what could have resulted in further damage.
Mr Dzeble has expressed gratitude to the Central Regional Director of Education, the Board Chairman, Bishop Baffoe, the school management and his colleagues for their support following the incident.
Meanwhile, Central Regional PTA Treasurer Christopher Mensah has appealed to individuals and organisations to support the affected family as they recover from the disaster.
He particularly called on parents, philanthropists, benevolent organisations and members of the Adisadel Old Boys Association, known as Santaclausians, both in Ghana and abroad, to assist with essential items.
The items needed include mattresses, bags, suitcases, beds, furniture and financial assistance to help the family replace some of their lost belongings.
