A commercial fire has destroyed a chop bar at South Odorkor near New Generation Chapel in the Greater Accra Region.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at house number A175-BO.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Fire Master Control received an alert about the incident at 1:30 a.m., and firefighters from the Dansoman Fire Station were dispatched a minute later.
The crew arrived at the scene at 1:39 a.m. and found the chop bar engulfed in flames.
Firefighters immediately deployed suppression tactics and brought the blaze under control at 1:58 a.m. The fire was completely extinguished at 2:42 a.m., preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building.
The GNFS said three 15kg gas cylinders, one 9kg gas cylinder, a refrigerator and two ECG meters were partially destroyed in the fire.
No injuries or casualties were recorded.
