Residents of Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, are said to be living in fear following the murder of Police officer, Lance Corporal Kingsley Boahen by men suspected to be armed robbers.

A reporter with Mankessim-based FM station, Ato Brown has told Adom FMs morning show Dwaso Nsem that residents in the area feel unsafe as the town was gradually becoming a safe haven for armed robbers.

He said the security situation was preventing many people from visiting Mankessim and its surrounding towns for fear of their lives.

According to Brown, Mankessim, has for sometime now, been a hotbed for armed robbery incidents, with frequent attacks on people.

The residents are therefore appealing with the police to conduct investigations into the killing to bring the perpetrators to book as well as restore the confidence of residents in the police.

The killing of Lance Coporal Boahen, is reported to have happened at dawn of Wednesday, when the police officer had gone jogging, an account that is yet to be confirmed.
