The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanuh, has announced a reward of GH¢10,000.00 to any person who gives credible information leading to the arrest of suspected robbers at Mankessim.

The suspected robbers shot dead a policeman identified as Lance Corporal Kingsley Boabeng and wounded two others.

The bounty was announced in a statement signed by the Central Regional Police Commander, DSP Irene Serwaah Oppong.

The statement added investigations were underway to establish the facts of events leading to the death and injuries.

The incident, according to reports, occurred around 4:30:am on Wednesday after a robbery attack at Zen Filling Station in the Mankessim area.

Lance Corporal Boabeng’s body was said to have been discovered in a nearby bush after the robbery shooting incident in a civilian dress, suggesting he was not part of the police operation at the crime scene.
