A policeman identified as Lance Corporal Kingsley Boaheng has been shot dead by robbers at Mankessim in the Central Region.
Information gathered by Adom News indicate the incident happened around 4:00 am on Wednesday after a robbery attack at Zen Filling Station in the Mankessim area.
Lance Corporal Boabeng’s body was said to have been discovered in a nearby bush after the robbery shooting incident.
The reports suggests the Lance Corporal who was found in a civilian dress, suggesting he was not part of the police operation at the crime scene.

Confirming the incidence, the Central Regional Police PRO, DSP Irene Oppong said the police only got to hear of the death after returning to base and this was after calm had been restored at the filling station.
She added that the robbers fired continuous shots, forcing the police operation team to call for reinforcement.
DSP Irene Oppong said investigations had begun into the incidence.
