The Assembly halted the demolition of illegal structures in the area on Friday to extend the grace period for residents to evacuate

Residents in over 200 households at Dansoman Beach Road, popularly known as Gbegbeise, in the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly have evacuated to enable the Assembly carry out its demolition of houses there.

Last Friday July 12, 2019, the Assembly halted the demolition of illegal structures in the area to extend the grace period for residents to evacuate.

A visit by Adom Kasie’s Kodwo Mensah Aboroampah revealed that residents, who were not ready for forceful eviction, had left their various homes and parked out.

Some even removed their roofing sheets to make way for the demolition of illegal structures in the area.

Adom News has learnt that the Municipal Assembly is ready for a showdown this week to pull down all structures at unauthorised places to make way for dredging in the area.
