The Northern Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into the deaths of two females believed to be nationals of Benin, whose bodies were found in a hotel room in Tamale.
According to the Police, the bodies were discovered at Cab Hospitality Hotel in the Gbewa Residential Area on Monday, August 3, 2026, after a report from the hotel management.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 4, the Northern Regional Police Command said officers visited the scene following the report and found the two females deceased.
“The bodies were subsequently conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death,” the statement said.
The Police said preliminary investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths, identify the deceased persons and engage relevant authorities to facilitate contact with their families.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has also deployed a special team of investigators, intelligence officers and a crime scene team from the National Police Headquarters to support the Northern Regional Police Command in the probe.
The Command has appealed to members of the public with credible information that could assist the investigation to contact the Police through emergency numbers or report to the nearest police station.
