A taxi driver, believed to be in his early twenties and identified only as Mawuli, on Friday morning stabbed his mother to death while his sister battles for her life at Sofo Zongo in the Effia-Kwesimintism Municipal Assembly of the Western region.
According to a witness, the boy chased his mother in the house over reasons yet to be known and stabbed her after which he went ahead to stab his elder sister.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, the witness said Mawuli came to the house very calm few minutes before the incident.
“He is a taxi driver and I was here when he came to the house about five minutes ago during which I asked for water and when he brought it, he informed me he was going to give money to his madam,” she said.

“Suddenly, I heard screams for help while washing on my veranda and saw the boy chasing his mother so I went behind the house to get help but before we returned, he had stabbed the mother,” she narrated.
The police at Kwesimintim have confirmed the incident and sent the body to the mortuary. The suspect’s elder sister is currently receiving treatment at the Effiankwanta Regional Hospital.
The suspect has been arrested and is in the custody of the Kwesimintsim Police Station.
