Popular Ghanaian actor John Dumelo says he is certain to win more than 70 per cent of the votes in the ongoing parliamentary primary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

Mr Dumelo says his main aim is to take the seat back from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) so he could be “part of the decision-making process”.

The actor is being contested by Afua Adoboe who political analysts have said is likely to give Mr Dumelo a run for his money.

Two-time NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat, Delali Kwasi Brempong has failed to pick forms for the ongoing elections.

In a by-election held in December 2018, Mr Dumelo had picked forms to contest for the seat after it became vacant following the death of NPP MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko but withdrew to make way for Mr Brempong.
