Chief Executive Officer of Brain Hill International School, Mary Anane Awuku, has clarified that her personal status has no influence on the school fees at Brain Hill International School, stressing that pricing decisions are strictly institutional and guided by management structures.

Speaking on The Career Trail programme aired on Joy Learning TV and Joy News, she explained that Brain Hill operates as an independent institution with a clear governance system.

“The fees of Brain Hill is one of the cheapest you can find in the Cambridge industry,” she said.

Mary noted that despite offering an international curriculum and hosting learners from multiple nationalities, the school deliberately structures its fees to cater mainly to Ghanaian families.

“We have almost 30 different nationalities, so it is an international school, but we do this to cater for the Ghanaian family the most,” she explained.

She added that the school does not quote its fees in foreign currency in order to remain accessible to local parents whose incomes are earned in cedis.

“We’ve never given any quotation to parents here in dollars,” she stated.

“If you look at the feeding, the stationery, and everything that is in what we charge, it is one of the cheapest,” she added.

Mary further emphasised that school operations and financial decisions are not determined by her personally but by a structured governance system.

She reiterated that Brain Hill operates with a board and management committees that oversee key decisions, including fees and curriculum matters.

“Status doesn’t even apply at all. The school is an institution and a different entity on its own,” she said.

“We have a board that regulates what we do. Decisions are taken at board level,” she added.

Mary stressed that although she is the founder, she is not the sole decision-maker in the running of the school.
