Ghana’s leading media conglomerate, Multimedia Group Limited, has secured the exclusive broadcast rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, positioning itself as the primary platform for nationwide coverage of football’s biggest tournament.
Under the agreement, Adom TV and Joy Prime will serve as the official free-to-air television channels for the competition, enabling football fans across the country to watch every match without subscription fees.
Beyond live match broadcasts, both stations will offer extensive pre-match and post-match analysis, featuring experienced football analysts and commentators who will provide tactical insights, player assessments, and expert opinions throughout the tournament.
In addition to television coverage, all matches will be broadcast live across the company’s radio network, ensuring fans in every part of the country, including areas with limited television access, can follow the action.
Digital and social media platforms will also play a key role in the coverage strategy. Fans can expect real-time updates, match highlights, exclusive content, and key talking points across Multimedia’s online channels.
The exclusive rights deal is expected to significantly expand access to World Cup content in Ghana while reinforcing Multimedia Group’s position as one of the country’s leading sports broadcasters.
Attention is already turning to the Black Stars, who will head into the tournament hoping to surpass their historic quarter-final finish at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia, setting up a challenging group-stage campaign against experienced international opposition.
The Black Stars’ qualification and preparations have generated considerable public interest, with expectations high for a strong showing on the global stage.
Meanwhile, the company has cautioned unauthorised broadcasters against illegally transmitting World Cup matches, stressing the need for strict compliance with intellectual property regulations.
It warned that any unauthorised broadcast or transmission of tournament content will not be tolerated as rights holders intensify efforts to protect official distribution channels.
