Former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has blamed the over politicisation of the energy sector for the controversy that has rocked the controversial Power Distribution Services (PDS) agreement.

Bernard Allotey Jacobs said if management of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) had led the deal, all these scandals would have been avoided.

The NDC feels vindicated after it raised red flags about the deal.

It is calling on some government officials and vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to resign for causing public embarrassment to the country.

But, Mr Jacobs on Adom FM’S Dwaso Nsem, Tuesday, said the two political parties – New Patriotic Party (NPP) and NDC – are to blame for the difficulty government is facing.

He said the NDC under the erstwhile Mahama administration was baited with juicy offers by American companies just to takeover ECG.

The former NDC Chairman, who is a former Board member of ECG, cited how he led workers of Public Utility Workers’ Union to the presidency to petition former President Mahama over the privatisation to buttress his point.
