Today marks exactly six months since government promised residents of Ledzokuku of fixing a road that stretches from Teshie to the Spintex Road within the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) area.

The 7.5km road is of immense importance to the residents of the area as the road is the only access the municipality’s foremost health facility.

In spite of this, the road has been left unattended to for almost three decades and over, causing the Multimedia Group’s media entities, Adom 106.3 FM and Joy 99.7 FM to stage a ‘FixLekmaNow campaign.

Days after the campaign, the Minister of Roads, Kwesi Amoako Atta, was at the scene to make a promise of fixing the roads within six months.

It’s been six months since that promise and even though some progress has been made, residents say the construction works have been too slow-paced.

The dual-carriage road has one side almost tarred but there is still a lot more work to be done.

The bumby road has also been linked to failed pregnancies of women travelling the stretch as expectant mothers now prefer walking through the dust to attend ante-natal at the LEKMA Hospital.
