Leicester City have confirmed that Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is set to join Ipswich Town after the two clubs reached an agreement over his transfer, subject to league and international clearance.
The 22-year-old winger brings an end to a successful three-year spell at the King Power Stadium, having first arrived on loan from Sporting CP ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
His impressive performances earned him a permanent move the following summer after helping Leicester secure the Sky Bet Championship title.
During his time with the Foxes, Issahaku established himself as a key figure, making 100 appearances in all competitions and scoring 16 goals.
In a statement announcing his departure, Leicester City thanked the Ghanaian for his contribution to the club.
“We can confirm that an agreement has been reached between Leicester City and Ipswich Town for the sale of Abdul Fatawu for an undisclosed fee, subject to league and international approval.
“We would like to thank Abdul for his efforts over the last three seasons as he departs with the very best wishes of everyone at Leicester City.”
Issahaku is now poised to continue his career with Ipswich Town, where he is expected to play an important role as the club prepares for the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.
The Black Stars winger heads into the new challenge after representing Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He featured prominently as the four-time African champions progressed to the Round of 32 before their campaign ended with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Colombia.
