Former coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Isaac Opeele Boateng, says he has been an ardent supporter of the club since he was in his mother’s womb.

On Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports morning show, Coach Boateng said he has followed Kotoko for a long time and knows the club very well.

The club has made about 13 signings this season making the team seem entirely new, but Mr Boateng believes the team will shock everybody in this season’s Confederation of African Football Champions League.

“We will have a better team to replace the outgoing one and it will leave some people in a state of shock,” he said.

“In 1982, during Opoku Afriyie and co times it was said they used witchcraft to strengthen and better the team and he took them to the finals in 1983 were they lost in the shootouts.

“So if you are a true Kotoko fan and you hear that a player is leaving it shouldn’t be surprising because God will bring an even better player to the team and shock everyone,” he added.

Asante Kotoko will face Kano Pillars of Nigeria on the 10th at the Sani Abacha Stadium in a first round qualifying fixture.
