Kumasi Asante Kotoko will not be seeking the services of Hearts of Oak player, Vincent Atinga.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the club, Obed Acheampong, he is not part of their plans for next season.
“We know Atinga is out of contract now with Hearts of Oak but has never been a part of our plans. Asante Kotoko does not need his services” Obed told Asempa FM Monday.
Obed Acheampong who heads the communication department of Asante Kotoko disclosed majority of the Kotoko players whose contract will expire in December will have it renewed.
He also noted that, plans are far advanced to sign new players ahead of the next season.
“Currently we are not seeking the services of any player like it is been purported out there but very soon we will go into the coach’s list and get some players on board”, He said.
“Contracts of most of our players are set to expire in the next three weeks but we are confident we will sit with them soon and renew most of them”, he added.
Obed Acheampong further pleaded with fans to ignore the names of players being put out there in the media as targets of Asante Kotoko.
Asante Kotoko resumes training on Thursday ahead of the new season and CAF Confederations Cup awaiting the arrival of head coach Steven Polack who is out of the country.
