Former Amenfi West Parliamentary candidate, Ignatius Kwesi Afrifa, has been elected the new Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Afrifa secured 265 votes to defeat his contender, Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, who polled 102 votes in the regional executive elections held at Agona-Nkwanta.
The election forms part of the NPP’s internal reorganisation aimed at strengthening its structures and positioning the party for the 2028 general elections.
Ignatius Aaaah Mensah was elected First Vice Chairman with 205 votes, while Francis Abeku Yankah secured the Second Vice Chairman position with 193 votes.
Kwasi Bonzoh emerged as Secretary after polling 211 votes, while Lawrence Takyi won the Deputy Secretary position with 157 votes.
Amoabeng Acheampong was elected Organiser with 181 votes, and Emmanuel Acquah Mensah secured the Communications Director position with 212 votes.
Osagyefo Attiah Kwaw won the Youth Organiser position with 197 votes, while Augustina Nketiah emerged as Women’s Organiser with 193 votes.
Nana Adwoa Appiah secured a decisive victory in the Treasurer race with 262 votes, while Adam Harun Ahmed was elected Nasara Organiser with 190 votes.
The newly elected executives are expected to lead the NPP’s organisational and grassroots mobilisation efforts in the Western Region as the party prepares for the 2028 elections.
