Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Public Sector Reform, Dr Thomas Kusi Boafo says he would have dissolved all public institutions in the country if they were football clubs upon the assumption of office and buy new players.
He says the rate at which the public sector has become stagnant and refusing to function is problematic and need addressing as soon as possible.

In a an interview with Adom FM after a media briefing about the National Public Sector Reform Strategy (NPSRS) which would be launched by President Akufo-Addo on August 8, 2018, Mr. Kusi Boafo said the strategy document will aid in transforming the public sector unlike the usual lip service that has not yielded any results over the years.
The five-year strategic plan with the theme, Delivering for Citizens and Private Sector, will clear all the filth in the system due to the stringent measures that would be put in place to foster its implementation.
In a statement read by the CEO, he said: “the previous government developed NPSRS document which was to be implemented from 2017-2027 which was approved by this government in principle”.
“A decision was, however, taken to review the document in line with our Government’s private sector-led development agenda and re-submit it for the adoption of our new Cabinet”.

Mr Kusi Boafo said institutions like the Passport office, Birth and Death Registry, Immigration Service, Pensions among others would be emancipated from the unnecessary delays that have characterised their activities over the years.
He said a proper client service unit or department would be set up for people to file complaints when the duration for their service is delayed unduly.
The former lecturer of the Kumasi Technical University also stressed on the issue of “ghost names” which has engulfed national payroll, saying an automated device is going to be employed to ensure that the moment one dies at the hospital and is entered into the system, the person would be cleared off within six hours.
