Matilda Amissah-Arthur, wife of late Former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, reacting to her controversial chalk comment at the Kukurantumi Presby Primary School in the Eastern Region, said she was not worried about the reportage.
According to her, the journalist who broke the story reported it out of context and never intended to mean what was portrayed and reported out there by the media.
“The chalk issue was interesting but I was not worried because the journalist edited the tape and took my statement out of context,” she said.

Speaking in an interview on Time With David, she explained she had to render an apology following the controversy after her comments.
“I apologised because as a leader if you do something and people think you didn’t do right, you must apologise even if you know you are right and it was because I am not cast in stone but the journalist also later came to apologise,” she said.
Explaining what really transpired, Mrs Amissah-Arthur said: “If you listen to the whole tape, when I said that, I said to her don’t you have Parent Teacher Association, don’t you have old students, and don’t you have town people?

“The chief is here, why don’t you rally all these people to partner with government to give the chalk? Sometimes we shouldn’t let government be bothered so much and that partner and give these things,” she added.
According to her, she assured the people she would give them the chalk if after a term they haven’t been able to get the chalk through old students.
