Residents of Ajumako have raised concerns over a damaged streetlight hanging dangerously in front of the Ajumako Education Directorate, warning that it poses a serious risk to road users and pedestrians.
The streetlight fixture, which appears to have detached from its original position, is currently suspended by a cable from the pole, creating fears that it could fall onto the road or nearby walkway at any moment.
The area is a busy stretch frequented daily by motorists, commercial drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists, students, education workers, and pedestrians.
Residents say the hanging fixture has become a safety hazard, particularly during periods of strong winds and heavy rainfall, when the likelihood of it falling may increase.

They warned that if the fixture becomes completely detached, it could strike a pedestrian, damage a vehicle, or cause a road accident, potentially resulting in injuries and property damage.
Concerned residents are therefore appealing to the relevant authorities to urgently inspect and repair the faulty streetlight before an unfortunate incident occurs.
According to them, prompt action will not only protect lives and property but also help maintain adequate street lighting in the area, especially at night when visibility is essential for road safety.
