The Black Stars of Ghana will conclude their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a behind-closed-doors friendly against Honduras on June 9, with the venue yet to be confirmed.
The fixture replaces a previously planned match against Jamaica, which could not be finalised after negotiations fell through.
The game against Honduras will now serve as Ghana’s final test before the team departs for Canada.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz will use the encounter to fine-tune his squad following their most recent outing, a 1-1 draw against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium.
That match formed part of the team’s build-up as they look to sharpen both cohesion and tactical discipline ahead of the tournament.
After the Honduras fixture, the squad will travel to Toronto to set up camp for the start of the 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup.
Ghana, making their fifth appearance at football’s biggest stage, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia—a group widely regarded as one of the tournament’s most demanding.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field, before taking on England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. Their final group match will be against Croatia on June 27.
Ghana are targeting a return to the knockout stages for the first time since 2010, having exited at the group phase in both the 2014 and 2022 editions.
