The mortal remains of former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Paul Tawiah Quaye, were laid to rest in a solemn and dignified ceremony marked by full honours.

Distinguished state officials, retired police officers, serving police commanders, family members, friends, and sympathisers gathered at the State House to pay their last respects to the late former police chief.

Leading the mourners was Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who joined senior government officials and top police leadership at the funeral ceremony held in honour of the late IGP.

A moving file-past formed part of the final rites, with retired police officers and regional police commanders taking turns to honour the late IGP. The ceremonial procession reflected the respect and admiration he earned during his years of service to the Ghana Police Service.

Family members, colleagues, friends, and sympathisers also filed past the casket, offering emotional farewells amid prayers and reflections on his life and service. The atmosphere was marked by solemn tributes highlighting his contributions to policing and national security.

The children of the late IGP also read a tribute, honouring their father’s legacy and dedication to duty.

Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye, who served as Inspector-General of Police with distinction, is remembered for his leadership, discipline, and commitment to maintaining peace and security in Ghana.

Speakers at the ceremony described him as a respected statesman whose impact on the Ghana Police Service will be felt for generations.

The funeral service drew a large turnout of security personnel, government representatives, traditional leaders, and members of the public, all gathered to celebrate the life and service of the late police chief.
