Former Black Stars defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour believes the Black Stars will miss the absence of Captain Asamoah Gyan.

The former Sunderland striker limped off the pitch in the final group game against Egypt in Stade Port Gentil.

The skipper is set for an MRI scan to know the extent of the injury but Sammy Kuffour who spoke on Super Sports where he was a pundit said the team will miss the former Liberty Professionals striker.

“My worry is how long Asamoah Gyan will take to recover and play the other game.

“He is our talisman, leader and our striker so we need him badly in this team.

“When Jordan plays around him, he always plays better because he makes the run and scores the goals. The team will miss him and will be looking on to see who replaces him against DR Congo”. Kuffour opined.

The Black Stars will play DR Congo in the quarter finals on Sunday in Oyem.
