The founder and leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has denied allegation that he has advised the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to use any of the state vehicles used by former President John Mahama.

Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Afraim Plains, Fuseini Donkor alleged over the weekend that President Akufo-Addo’s refusal to use the same cars former President Mahama used is based upon advice from Rev Owusu Bempah.

According to him, the President’s wish to use his own private vehicles while there are vehicles customized and provided to him for his safety is due to spiritual reasons.

Fuseini Donkor said there are enough cars at the Presidency for the President’s use adding that the bullet proof Land Cruisers and Toyota Avalon cars 2015 model which are in good shape are parked at the Presidency and therefore wondered why the President cannot use any of these cars and rather choose to ride in a 2007 BMW car left which was used by ex-President John Kufour.

“What at all is frightening President Akufo Addo such that he does not want to sit in cars used by President Mahama. In fact, his spiritual father, Rev. Owusu Bempah has advised him not to drive in any of the cars used by President Mahama, and he can’t disclose this to Ghanaians and so has to tell a lie that there are no cars at the Flagstaff House and uses his own campaign car when he’s going outside Accra, then there must be a special reason to his actions” he said.

But Rev Owusu Bempah responding to the claims on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Monday said though he has always been offering prayers for President Akufo-Addo, he has no right to order him not to sit in a car used by former President Mahama.

According to him, some elements in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are planning hard to make him unpopular in the eyes of Ghanaians because he prophesized the victory of the NPP in the December polls.

“How on earth will I tell President Akufo-Addo not to sit in a car used by Mahama, what then happens to where he is staying now. Then I would of course tell him not to go to the flagstaff house if indeed I asked him not use Mahama’s cars,” he stated.

He further added that there is no iota of truth in rumours that he also performed some ‘rituals’ at the Jubilee House before the President resumed duty.
