A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged the government to up its game, given the worsening socio-economic conditions in the country.

Bernard Oduro Nyarko said though the Akufo-Addo led government has introduced a lot of social intervention programmes, a weak economy could send them back into opposition.

Barely two years in office, Ghanaians are complaining about hardships in the country.

The depreciation of the cedi has made things worst as businessmen who voted massively for the NPP are threatening to vote them out of office.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday, Bernard Oduro Nyarko said the government is sitting on a ticking time bomb.

He indicated that trumpeting successes chalked in the implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy is not enough to win 2020 elections.

The NPP man stated that the majority of Ghanaians are languishing in abject poverty thus free SHS will not mean anything to them when it’s time to make a critical decision.

As an immediate measure, Mr Oduro Nyarko charged the government to accelerate prudent measures being put in place to bring respite to Ghanaians.

  1. it is unfortunate that anybody can get up and spill gibbish, our cedi has had not depreciated, it is rather the dollar that has gained. other currency has remained the same. food, electricity etc has been even better. world currency all over are having issues with dollar and if you are a proper businessman you would have notice it, don’t fall for ndc stupid properganda for planting for good and jobs have employed people. power is stable now do you think it take stupidity to enjoy electricity 24 hours? grow up Mr know nothing
