Black Stars winger Ernest Nuamah has praised the growing unity and commitment within Ghana’s camp as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and next week’s international friendly against Wales.
The senior national team began training at Dragon Park on May 25 with a 28-man provisional squad as head coach Otto Addo steps up preparations for the tournament in North America.
Ghana will face Wales in a friendly match on Tuesday, June 2, at the Cardiff City Stadium as part of their final build-up before the World Cup.
With competition for places in the final squad intensifying, Nuamah highlighted the importance of togetherness, discipline and adapting to the coach’s tactical approach.
Speaking to Ghana FA media, the Olympique Lyon winger expressed satisfaction with the atmosphere in camp and the commitment being shown by the players.
“But it feels good, like everyone is dedicated,” he told the Ghana FA media.
“We are all happy and ready to give it all for the competition, and we know what is ahead of us and what we want to achieve, as you know, like every coach and how they want to play and like we need to adapt to a style of play, which is like the most important,” Nuamah added.
The final 26-man squad for the World Cup is expected to be announced on Monday, June 1.
Ghana, who will be making their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field before facing England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. They will conclude the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
The four-time African champions are aiming to progress beyond the group stage for the first time since their historic run to the quarter-finals at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
