1. Women, be warned

Ladies, tell us if this sounds familiar. You just had mindblowing sex and are feeling at the top of the world. However, instead of laying back and relaxing, you feel uncomfortable and woozy. Suddenly, all the after-sex euphoria has gone for a toss and it is replaced with a disturbance in your tummy.

2. Feeling sick after sex

If you too feel sick after having sex, it is important that you don’t neglect it and get to the root of the cause. This is because feeling nauseous post-coitus might be the symptom of an underlying medical condition. Here are some of the reasons:

3. Sexual aversion disorder

There can be several reasons because of which people lose interest in coitus and sexual activities. It could be your body’s way of telling you that you are not entirely comfortable with whatever just happened. If you suspect that you are suffering from sexual aversion disorder –stemming from a tormenting sexual experience–it is important to seek help. You can opt to go for therapy or consult a physiologist if the symptom persists.

4. Endometriosis

If you experience intense pain in addition to nausea after sex gets over, you may want to get checked for endometriosis. It is a painful medical condition where bits of the tissue that lines the uterus (endometrium) grow on other pelvic organs. Sex can cause nausea if it puts pressure on the tissue growing outside the womb.

A lot of women who are battling endometriosis can get nauseous if the sex is painful. We strongly advise consulting a gynaecologist for clarity.

5. Cervical stimulation

A lot of women do not feel comfortable with the whole concept of penetration during sex. Hence, if the penetration is deep enough to stimulate the cervix (the mouth of your uterus) it may cause pain and nausea. It may also cause cramping and discomfort during sex.
