Chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Area in River State, Nigeria on Wednesday stormed the United Bank of Africa (UBA)’s branch in the area to sack customers for defying social distancing protocol.

The Chairman, Ishi Samuel, with a task force angrily stormed the premises to dismiss customers who had massed up.

In an angry tone, he questioned why they had massed up despite the call for social distancing to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.

Requesting for the presence of the branch manager after sacking the customers, he demanded no customer without a face mask should be allowed into the banking hall.

He further requested to inspect the bank’s hand sanitisers, liquid soap, hand washing stand and other safety measures put in place for customers and workers.
