The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been called upon to call the Special Prosecutor nominee, Martin Amidu, to order for exhibiting signs of arrogance.
The reason, according to Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Ken Agyapong, is that Martin Amidu has started showing signs that he ‘is very arrogant and a man full of bitterness’.

“Martin Amidu is very arrogant, very very arrogant, look at the kind of arrogance he is demonstrating at the vetting committee? He just can’t take a simple joke…,” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Tuesday.
Martin Amidu is currently before Parliament’s Appointment Committee.
But Ken Agyapong believes that the Special Prosecutor nominee has so far not shown signs that he is prepared to work with a “free mind.”

He thus called on the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, to call the nominee to order as his arrogance is choking lots of people.
“What kind of bitterness is that? Even some of us who were charged with treason and could have been sentenced to death if we were found guilty, we don’t harbor such bitterness….so he must be called to order,” he said.
According to Ken Agyapong, Martin Amidu will give the NPP Government lots of problems if the powers that be, fail to ‘tame’ him.

“All he has to do is just to call one appointee or the other for investigations and the NDC will begin trumpeting that there is corruption in this administration, he is going to be the beginning of Akufo-Addo’s troubles…,” Ken said further.
Asked if he was criticizing Martin Amidu because he feared he will be investigated by the Special Prosecutor, Ken said he did not fear him because “I have not engaged in any corrupt act.”
“I am only telling the truth, the man is too bitter and that is not the way to go,” he said.

  1. I agree with Ken regarding the way Martin Amidu answered questions at the committee. According to Ghanaweb, Martin Amidu omitted the names of his children on the nomination form saying that his children are grown ups so it wasn’t necessary to complete that questionnaire. Once a baby is born, parenthood never stops. He or she is still a son or daughter to the parents even if they are adults

  2. I respectfully disagree with Ho Ken AGYAPONG. I find Lawyer Amidu very consistent in his views and so far he has delivered very well. What someone finds insulting might be seen by one as a choke and that cannot be construed t mean arrogance. We’re all different and we must be very accommodating to one another.

  3. Give us a break Ken Agyapong the reason why Amidu is good for the job is he’s not afraid of anybody and that’s what Nana Addo wants . So that he can put a Watchman on his own appointees and go to bed with his intergrrety intact.
He always say he’s not corrupt and he’s proving it.
I am happy he said if you become to TV and says things like I gave this money and that money to this party and so on is a crime .

  4. As for this one I disagree with you Hon. there is no need taming Martin. If an NPP member is corrupt why should he shield that person. Do they steal for the party or their families. I want him to start from the party before moving to the NDC appointees. The ordinary Ghanaian including myself will be the winner. The President thought well for Ghana by Appointing Hon Amidu. #STOPCORRUPTIONNOW#

  5. Ken is afraid of a warning Amuzu gave: Watch what you say on radio! If you boast that you finances a president during election it is corruption!

  6. Its funny…Ken saying somebody is arrogant…!! Does he not know that he is also seen to be very
very arrogant…? Please Ken, just be silence as others are also silence about your attitude. The Amidu man to me shows that he is a very upright and thinks right….I like his boldness and his approach to all the questions he was asked. I pray that his presence alone will scared people from endulging in acts of corruption. One man i will credit for Martin’s growth to prominence is JJ Rawlings….Look, all the people Rawlings hand picked to work with him during his presidency seems to have a good character with probity and accountability running through their veins….eg…Prof Mills of blessed memory, Ato and Prof. Ahwoi, Tsatsu Tsikata, Kojo Tsikata, etc…the list is just too tall. Rawlings is truely a great leader.

  7. Ken should give us a break. Most of his actions are not different from that of Amidu yet people like him for who or what he is. That is, he does not pretend to be something else. How many times has he not fought with his own radio presenters at Oman fm during programmes at which he is present . When he goes out of order and his attention is being drawn to his excesses, he gets furious and says all sorts of unpalatable things to them. Martin Amidu may be seen to be arogant yet he makes his points strongly and that is how he is. He is adored by most people for the principles he espouses and believes in. Ken, you are adored by many for your ‘plain’ talks so stop calling the kettle black.

  8. Why most Ghanaians can’t stand people who stand for the right, we love people who pretend to be what they are not. Martin speaks his mind not timid as most are whoever hates the truth will never like this man.

  9. Amidu is very right.Ken should give us a break on this one.Kudos to Martin.NPP or NDC or whoever, deal with him or her.Ghana is really working. God bless NADAA and Thanks to God for such a leader to Ghana.#corruption must stop
